The GoA Magazine Publishers Operating Grant Program is now accepting applications and replaces the Cultural Industry Organization Operating Grant, which has been in effect since 2011. Eligible organizations may receive funding to invest in the operation and administration of their organization to further its mission and in specific business development activities that strengthen and advance the organization’s and industry’s capacity.
Applicants may apply through the online grant application system until the 27 June, 2022 deadline.
Understanding the number of new entrants to the program and some challenges of the past few years, the financial reporting requirement threshold in which a Notice to Reader/Engagement is required has been raised from $10,000 to $25,000.
The Alberta Media Fund has determined there to be minimal risk associated with the change and will seek to amend the guidelines for future intakes. This change is in line with other funding programs within the Ministry and should provide some financial relief to smaller organizations.
