AMPA is proud to collaborate with the International Regional Magazine Association (IRMA) to host a joint conference, broadening our reach to include top regional publishers from Canada, the United States, and Bermuda. On Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18, 2026, more than 200 media professionals and industry leaders will gather at the Carriage House Hotel & Conference Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for the Alberta Magazines Conference and Awards / IRMA Conference and Awards.

The 2026 Alberta Magazines Conference is programmed by publishing and curriculum consultant Joyce Byrne in collaboration with AMPA staff and Board of Directors to bring you two days of exceptional programming. We look forward to seeing you in September!

PASSES

Passes will go on sale in Spring 2026!

Pre-Agenda pricing is open to AMPA members and non-members.

The Conference Pass includes lunch on Day 1, the Alberta Magazine Awards Gala dinner and a hot breakfast on Day 2.

The Small Circulation Conference Pass is restricted to AMPA members with a circulation of less than 1000 copies.

TRAVEL BURSARIES

Out-of-town AMPA members are eligible to apply for a travel subsidy. Please submit your expression of interest by Friday, August 28, 2026 and we’ll contact you directly with more information. Priority will be given to members who register for the Conference Pass.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations before August 28, 2026, will incur a $50 service charge. Cancellations after August 28, 2026, will not be eligible for a refund.
