Shannon Cleary is a freelance writer based in Calgary, AB. Her stories often cover topics in parenting, health, design and technology. Shannon’s recent work has appeared in Avenue Calgary, Vern, and Calgary’s Child, as well as specialty publications such as Calgary Hockey, Dementia Connections and the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s LEAP Magazine. She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both in journalism.
In 2016, Shannon was selected as one of Five New Alberta Voices through the Writers’ Guild of Alberta Mentorship Program for a project in fiction. She is currently completing a creative writing program with the Humber School for Writers.
