Location: Calgary

Amber has years of experience working with magazines that began with an internship at Avenue Calgary in 2019. Since then, she’s spent her time as a freelance writer for a number of different outlets, including cover stories for both Avenue (Top 40 Under 40 2021) and Spur (Reducing Barriers/Safe Spaces). Amber’s freelancing work also includes writing content articles and copy for businesses such as Pursuit’s Banff Jasper Collection and other international brands.

When she’s not writing, Amber can be found in the classroom at Mount Royal University, instructing students in journalism, communications and general education, having completed her Master of Journalism and thesis at Carleton University. During her time at Carleton, she additionally worked in newsrooms alongside long form, investigative teams like the Institute of Investigative Journalism and CBC’s The Fifth Estate.
