Cheryl Bozarth Soll

Cheryl Bozarth Soll has dedicated much of her life to her enduring love of nature. In her voluntary role as the President of the non-profit Nature Alberta she works hard to promote the conservation and appreciation of our province’s considerable natural assets. From a magazine point of view, this translates into her enthusiastic support of Nature Alberta Magazine.

As Nature Alberta’s president, Bozarth Soll not only recognizes the importance of magazine publishing as a tool to advance the goals of her organization, but she’s also instrumental in the production of the magazine itself. In addition to her other responsibilities, Bozarth Soll volunteers on magazine’s editorial committee. She also uses her time networking as a nature advocate to attract like-minded and top-level photographers, writers, researchers and experts to contribute to the magazine. As a writer, she also contributes her own voice to the publication, further showcasing her passion for conservation and her love of nature.

While many organizations recognize the power of bespoke magazine publications, Bozarth Soll has a particular dedication to ensuring Nature Alberta’s messaging is spread through a professional magazine designed to appeal to a broad audience. Her President’s Message sets the tone for each issue, inviting readers into the fold. Her active participation in the magazine and willingness to brainstorm ideas in support of the magazine’s team is essential to relaying Nature Alberta’s mission onto the printed page and raising the profile of the cause.

“Through her President’s Messages, Cheryl inspires our readers to not only discover the gems found within that issue’s contents but also inspires our readers to discover the seasonal natural beauty and unique biodiversity of our province,” says Nature Alberta’s editor-in-chief Erin McCloskey, noting that Bozarth Soll has also been the catalyst for some of the magazine’s most impactful feature articles over the last year. “She instils a sentiment of stewardship for our province’s natural history, for which our magazine exists to serve and uphold.”

The fact that Bozarth Soll is so involved in the magazine on top of her other duties as Nature Alberta president, all on a purely volunteer basis, is what is truly remarkable. Her role with the organization and the magazine is a genuine labour of love, and as a result she treats everyone involved as family, creating additional connections within the larger community of nature lovers in Alberta.

In addition to that responsibility and her other work as a business owner, Bozarth Soll is an accomplished artist and was invited by the Nature Conservancy of Canada to be a panelist for an event showcasing local artists who use nature as their inspiration. A nature lover in every sense, Bozarth Soll lives on an acreage in Northern Alberta with her husband, four children and a host of pets and farm animals.
