On May 3, 2024, the National Magazine Awards Foundation unveiled their list of 200 finalists. Submissions came from magazines from across Canada – English and French, print and digital. AMPA congratulates all finalists, with special congratulations to AMPA Member finalists and creators hailing from the province of Alberta.
Alberta Views placed in Illustration for “Cherries Bar Cherries” by Byron Eggenschwiler; Investigative Reporting for “Dysfunction at EMS” by Jennie Russell and Charles Rusnell; and Photo Essay & Photojournalism for “Rooms with a Royal View,” by Guillaume Nolet.
Avenue placed in Portrait Photography for “Wakefield Brewster: Poet for the People” by Steve Collins.

The winners will be announced on June 7 during the National Magazine Awards Gala hosted by freelance journalist Jimmy Thomson.
