The Alberta Magazine Awards celebrate and recognize excellence in journalism and visual storytelling and honour individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the magazine industry.
Competition is open to any AMPA member print or digital magazine, with the exception of Best New Magazine and Emerging Writer categories, which are open to non-members.
Submission Fees and Deadlines
Entry portal to open: January 6, 2025
Early Bird entry deadline: February 7, 2025 at 4PM
Entry deadline: March 14, 2025 at 4PM
Early Bird fee: $40 per entry
Regular fee: $50 per entry
Small circulation (<1,000) and freelance Early Bird: $35
Small circulation (<1,000) and freelance Regular: $45
Winners will be announced at the 2025 Alberta Magazine Conference taking place in Calgary on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
AMPA member magazines are eligible to receive a second entry submission FREE. Your free entry must be submitted as a separate transaction, upload your entry, select Pay by Cheque and add “Free Entry” the notes. You will not be invoiced for the free submission.
*Please note that the Magazine of the Year and Best New Magazine categories require hard copies sent to the AMPA office by Friday, March 14, 2025 at 4PM.
