Rob Hewitt studied graphic design at Emily Carr Art and Design Institute. He has lived and worked in New York City since 2000. Hewitt’s wide-ranging expertise encompasses the design of magazines, books, and packaging and his work has been recognized and awarded by the American Society of Magazine Editors, the Society for Publication Designers, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Art Directors Club and Communication Arts. He is currently the creative director of Dwell magazine; having also served as the Design Director of Popular Mechanics, Condé Nast Traveler and designer at GQ magazine. Rob has also maintained a boutique graphic design studio “CuriousOutsider.” through which he works to help small, custom and not-for-profit publishers establish themselves in the print space and as well as undertaking compelling redesigns or branding projects.
