Mila Bongco-Philipzig served as editor for a special issue of The Polyglot celebrating artists and writers of Philippine heritage. She played a key role in shaping the issue, forging an important partnership between The Polyglot and the Philippine Edmonton Events and Arts Society (PHIDEAS). Mila selected and curated the contributors and works, ensuring a thoughtful and dynamic flow for the issue, and worked closely with writers and artists from Canada, the U.S., and the Philippines. She also secured funding by applying for a City of Edmonton Anti-Racism grant, enabling the issue to come to life. To further amplify the voices in the issue, she organized and hosted a launch event at LitFest, bringing the community together to celebrate this milestone publication.
