The nominee is responsible for maintaining the editorial calendar, scheduling and chairing content meetings, creating coverage plans, issuing assignments to internal and external contributors, issuing deadline reminders and keeping production on schedule, engaging in the substantive editing of all content, writing all headlines, decks and summaries, writing features and profiles as needed, engaging in ongoing consultation with members of the design team, ensuring the magazine is being promoted via social media, producing and distributing an e-newsletter version of each issue, and maintaining relations with external service providers such as advertising reps and printers. The nominee also is involved in recruiting and working with guest editors, who are involved in the magazine on an as-needed basis due to the subject matter.
