Welcome to Our Newest Members!

Date: 23rd May 2023

AMPA is pleased to welcome six new members to our association! These new member magazines are Contours, Forecast Ski, Hungry Zine, King Snow, U of A Nursing and Urban Affairs.

Contours
Science Contours is the Faculty of Science Magazine published by the Dean’s Office. It is distributed to Science alumni, donors, faculty, staff, students and other interested readers. It aims to connect alumni with other alumni, to keep people informed of developments in the Faculty of Science, and to build pride and encourage readers to become ambassadors for the Faculty.

Forecast Ski
For 10 years, Forecast Ski has been the voice of skiing in Canada. Distributed for FREE to winter sport enthusiasts from coast to coast, we are the largest outlet for ski media in the country.

Hungry Zine
Based out of Edmonton, Hungry centres voices that are missing from traditional food media. We are a space for sharing stories, art and building community around food. We are a platform for writers, artists and creators who are inspired by food culture and stories in their art.

King Snow
For over 15 years, King Snow has documented all aspects of snowboarding in Canada. Distributed for FREE to winter sport enthusiasts from coast to coast, we are the largest outlet for snowboard media in the country.

U of A Nursing
The Faculty of Nursing alumni magazine, NURSING, is published annually and features stories about our alumni, faculty and students. The magazine is distributed to nursing alumni, donors, faculty, students, staff, and other interested readers and is also available as a digital copy! It aims to connect and engage alumni, keep interested parties informed of recent developments within the Faculty, and inspire and encourage our readers to Lead with Purpose.

Urban Affairs
Urban Affairs (or Urban AF) is an online publication that tells uniquely Edmonton stories, in a way that does away with some of the boring, established practices that are killing modern journalism. We don’t need to do the “we were there” reporting, to tell people about press conferences they already streamed. We prefer one-on-one chats to scrums. Our readers are already plugged into the city. They care about their community. We’re here to tell the stories behind the stories, the kind of thoughtful pieces that are the hallmarks of magazine journalism. With a pro-business attitude, Urban AF reflects the thinking of local entrepreneurs, city builders and those that want to see Edmonton thrive. With a weekly newsletter hitting more than 6,000 engaged subscribers, Urban Affairs is becoming Edmonton’s must-read for business.

From the AMPA Board and team, a big welcome to our newest member magazines!
