National Magazine Awards Finalists Announced

Date: 17th June 2021

On June 11, 2021, the National Magazine Awards Foundation unveiled their list of 210 finalists. Submissions came from 160 Canadian magazines – English and French, print and digital. AMPA congratulates all finalists, with special congratulations to AMPA Member finalists and creators hailing from the province of Alberta.

Edify Magazine placed in the Feature Writing category for “January 8, 2020” by Omar Mouallem (a two-time gold winner at the 2021 Alberta Magazine Awards!).

Alberta Views placed in the Columns category for “On Second Thought” by Paula Simmons and in the Photo Essay and Photojournalism category for “At the Core of the City: Chinatown” by Guillaume Nolet (also a finalist at the 2021 Alberta Magazines Awards).

Avenue Calgary won Gold for Best Virtual Event for “Avenue magazine Top 40 Under 40 Meet the Class of 2020”.
