Join the Team Canada Trade Mission to Japan

The Department of Canadian Heritage (DCH) joins Global Affairs Canada (GAC) in inviting you to submit your application to participate in a trade mission to Japan from October 29 to November 2, 2023.

Team Canada Trade Mission to Japan

For the first time, DCH will partner with GAC as part of Team Canada. The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, will lead this large-scale trade mission. A wide range of government departments and industry sectors will be represented, including the cultural industries. PCH will be responsible for the dedicated components of the creative industries within the overall Team Canada Trade Mission program, which would include the business-to-business meetings.

Date: October 29 to November 2, 2023
Venue: Multiple (TBC)
Location: Osaka and Tokyo with potential for another city (to be confirmed), Japan
Target Audience: Canadian export-ready small, medium and large-sized companies, including exporters from diverse backgrounds.
Sectors: Aerospace, Agriculture and processed foods, Cultural Industries, Automotive, Clean technologies, Consumer products, Forestry and wood products, Industrial machinery, Information and communications technologies, Infrastructure, Life sciences, Mining.

Selection Criteria
More information on Team Canada’s trade mission to Japan, as well as the selection criteria, can be found on GAC’s website.

Priority may be given to organizations that identify themselves as owned by entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds (i.e. those traditionally under-represented in business – women, indigenous peoples, black and other racialized entrepreneurs, 2SLGBTQ2+ and youth).

All creative industries’ applications received by Global Affairs Canada will be assessed and selected by DCH as per our usual practice for DCH-led trade missions under the Creative Export Strategy.
