Earlier this month, Canadian Heritage announced the launch of Canada’s first Creative Export Strategy to promote Canadian creative industries in export markets. In addition to increasing funds for export activities through existing programs, a new standalone program, Creative Export Canada, was also announced. Creative Export Canada is dedicated to funding export activities.
The guidelines explaining the eligibility criteria for the Creative Export Canada program are now live. The program is open to paid and controlled circulation magazines.
The program is intended to support export-ready projects (not development) that will generate export revenues in support of Canadian creative industries. Publishers interested in applying are welcome to submit a “statement of interest” outlining their initiative to receive feedback on the project’s eligibility prior to completing the formal application.
