Earlier this month, Canadian Heritage announced the launch of Canada’s first Creative Export Strategy to promote Canadian creative industries in export markets. In addition to increasing funds for export activities through existing programs, a new standalone program, Creative Export Canada, was also announced. Creative Export Canada is dedicated to funding export activities.
The guidelines explaining the eligibility criteria for the Creative Export Canada program are now live.The program is open to paid and controlled circulation magazines.
The program is intended to support export-ready projects (not development) that will generate export revenues in support of Canadian creative industries. Publishers interested in applying are welcome to submit a “statement of interest” outlining their initiative to receive feedback on the project’s eligibility prior to completing the formal application.
Other eligibility criteria include:
Minimum of 1 employee
Maximum of $500 million in annual revenue
Applications for the Creative Export Canada program are now open. The two application deadlines for the remainder of 2018 are as follows:
September 14, 2018 for projects whose expenses start between June 8, 2018 and March 31, 2019.
November 16, 2018 for projects whose expenses start between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.
