Applications Open for Business Innovation and Collective Initiatives from DCH

Date: 24th July 2023

The 2023-2024 Application Guidelines for the Business Innovation and Collective Initiatives components of the Canada Periodical Fund (CPF) are now available on their website. For the first time this year, clients must submit their Business Innovation – Magazines or Collective Initiatives application through the Canadian Heritage Funding Portal (CHFP). To do this, there are two steps to complete:

  • If you have not already done so, create your Applicant Profile on the Canadian Heritage Funding Portal (CHFP), upload the Publishing Firm’s articles of incorporation, as well as the direct deposit enrolment form and/or void cheque.
  • Submit your 2023-2024 Business Innovation -Magazines or Collective Initiatives funding application

Note: Applications for support through the Business Innovation – Community Newspapers component of the CPF cannot be submitted via the Canadian Heritage Funding Portal. Information on how to apply for this component is available on their website.

The deadline to submit an application to the Business Innovation and Collective Initiatives components is SEPTEMBER 15, 2023 at 11:59 PM (Local Time). An acknowledgement of receipt will be sent to you by email automatically following the submission of your funding application via the Portal.

Canadian Heritage has established service standards for the delivery of its funding programs. Our goal is to issue a written notification of the funding decision within 20 weeks of the program’s application deadline.

Reminder for the Access to the Portal

The individual that prepares and submits the online application must have the authority to do so on behalf of your organization. There are two ways to sign into the Canadian Heritage Funding Portal: with a GCKey, or through a Sign-In Partner.

  • GCKey is a service that issues credentials (a username and password) for accessing government services online. This is a unique electronic credential that allows you to communicate securely with online-enabled government programs and services. GCKey is a good option if you don’t have a sign-in partner or prefer not to use one.
  • You can also access the CHFP through a Sign-In Partner site. Sign-In Partners are companies and organizations (such as financial institutions) that have partnered with SecureKey Technologies to enable their customers to use their online credentials (e.g. card numbers or user names and passwords for an existing Canadian bank account) to access Government of Canada services. Using a sign-in partner is convenient because you don’t have to remember a different user ID and password; you already know your login information because you likely use it on a regular basis.

*Applicant profile: If you already have an applicant profile created through our online portal, please do not create a new profile as it will delay the assessment of your application.

MICROSOFT EDGE or CHROME are the authorized browsers to use for the application portal.

If you are unable to access the Portal or apply online, their support team is available to assist you Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern Time).
