On 3 May, 2022, the National Magazine Awards Foundation unveiled their list of 199 finalists. Submissions came from magazines from across Canada – English and French, print and digital. AMPA congratulates all finalists, with special congratulations to AMPA Member finalists and creators hailing from the province of Alberta.
Edify Magazine placed in the One of a Kind Storytelling category for “The Good, the Bad and the Hungry” by Michael Hingston.
The Sprawl placed in Best Editorial Package for their “Sprawlzine: The Election Almanac” with Jeremy Klaszus, Hamdi Issawi, Miranda Martini, Emily Riddle, Anmarie Bailey, Jeremy Appel, Sikapinakii Low Horn, Amanda Schutz, Kyle Simmers, Paula Kirman, Sam Hester, Len Dueck, Chris Pecora and Cam Hoff.
Avenue Calgary is a finalist in the Portrait Photography category for “The Energyphile” by Jared Sych.
