Strategic Advertising Sales Rep – Trailblazher (Contract)

Trailblaz∙her magazine, a collectible, 108-page printed magazine is published four times a year to showcase the lifestyles, stories and modern business wisdom of enterprising, rural women in Canada and the US. Trailblazher is currently sold online through our website by subscription and single issue.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, charismatic ad sales representative to establish and foster relationships with potential ad partners who possess products, services and experiences applicable to our niche demographic (enterprising, rural women in North America); someone who can develop strong ties, including higher level relationships, to develop ongoing budget allocation and upsell opportunities. You are a big picture thinker who can align client needs within a custom advertising package. You will have a proven track record and experience as an advertising sales representative, with sound knowledge of marketing principles and techniques. You will work closely with Trailblazher Co founders to build ideas and campaigns in a culture of creativity, passion and growth.
Remuneration – position is commission with the potential to move into base + commission.

  • Conduct research on potential clients’ products and services
  • Able to ask key questions to scope and qualify opportunities
  • Initiate discussions with clients through emails, calls and scheduled meetings
  • Provide clients with advertising materials to aid them in selecting appropriate service
  • Present advertising online, digital and print (or combo) proposals to address ad partner needs
  • Review media placements and ad campaigns to ensure they meet all ad partner specifications
  • Able to meet or exceed sales targets and campaign goals with consistency and accountability
  • Build long-lasting relationships with ad partners to ensure service excellence and longevity
  • Adaptable within a fast growing company and can focus on seasonal and blitz promotions

Skills Required:

  • 2+ years experience selling digital or print advertising
  • Confidence and experience with outreach to national/international brands
  • Self-directed, energetic professional with a positive attitude and optimistic outlook
  • Passionate and motivated with an inner drive to exceed expectations
  • Love working with a diverse array of people and personalities
  • Effective communication and rapport building skills
