Canadian Cowboy Country, Canada’s leading magazine celebrating the ranching and western lifestyle, is looking for a dynamic Digital Content Intern to help grow and manage our website and social media presence over the summer months.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Website Management:
  • Update and refresh event listings, ranch directories, and articles on the Canadian Cowboy Country website.
  • Perform basic search engine optimization (SEO) tasks to improve website visibility and traffic.
• Social Media Management:
  • Regularly post on Facebook and Instagram to engage our community.
  • Develop and schedule content that reflects the cowboy/ranching way of life.
  • Monitor and respond to comments and messages to foster online engagement.
• Content Coordination:
  • Work closely with the editorial team to repurpose existing magazine content for digital use.
  • Occasionally assist with writing, copywriting, and photo sourcing as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• A degree in journalism, communications, digital media, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress (posting, editing, basic SEO).
• Solid understanding of social media, with experience building audience engagement.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
• Familiarity with basic digital marketing practices is an asset.
• Appreciation for, or firsthand knowledge of, ranching culture and the cowboy way of life is essential.
• Self-starter attitude, with an eye for detail and a flair for community storytelling.
