The media world is changing fast and publishers need comprehensive strategies to build their business and innovative ideas to generate revenue. With a wealth of publishing leaders in our ranks, AMPA’s Publishers Summit aims to bring new and experienced publishers together to share challenges, ask questions, and find practical solutions. The summit kicks off with a keynote presentation on How to Grow Your Media Business through Brand Extensions and Acquisitions, by Al Zikovitz, President and CEO of Cottage LIfe Media, followed by roundtable discussions and networking. Join us to reconnect with old friends, form new relationships and share insights with Alberta publishing colleagues.

Al Zikovitz is the President and CEO of Cottage Life Media, a division of Blue Ant Media. Al founded Cottage Life magazine in 1988 and expanded it into a highly recognized brand that included websites, social media, consumer shows, book publishing, radio shows, contract publishing, retail merchandise, television shows and a national television channel. Al acquired and published explore, Outdoor Canada, Canadian Home Workshop and Cottage magazines.  He has also been instrumental in the acquisition of Australian Geographic magazine, the Ottawa Cottage & Backyard Show, the Seasons Show and the Baby Shows. He has served as a board member of the Ontario Media Development Corporation, BPA/Canadian Circulation Audit Board, Canadian Magazine Publishers Association (past Chair), International Regional Magazine Association (past president), National Magazine Awards Foundation (past president),  ViviData, and the Print Measurement Board. In 2013 Al sold Cottage Life Media to Blue Ant Media where he continues to be involved with the added responsibility to grow the magazine and consumer-show divisions.
