The Canadian Magazines Coalition has written a letter to the Honourable Minister J Lightbound, Minister of Government Transportation, Public Services and Procurement, and are asking anyone working in Canadian magazine publishing today to add their voices and experiences. Here’s a link to Magazines Canada’s website with the letter, should you want to add your name as a signatory.
Deadline to add your voice is Friday October 10.
A strong show of support from our members in our communications with the Government of Canada is critical. We need a united voice from coast to coast to coast.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a national strike following the government’s announcement on Canada Post’s transformation.
Canada Post’s operations will shut down during a national strike, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.
What you can expect
Mail and parcels will not be processed or delivered for the duration of the national strike, and some post offices will be closed. Service guarantees are suspended for items already in the postal network. No new items will be accepted until the national disruption is over.
All mail and parcels in the postal network will be secured and delivered as quickly as possible once operations resume. Processing and delivery may take some time to fully return to normal.
