The Canada Council for the Arts has launched the Alberta Focus Initiative. This two-year, time-limited initiative aims to strengthen engagement and collaboration with Alberta’s vibrant arts community, as well as to deepen the Council’s understanding of the community’s unique realities.
Starting this spring, two Alberta-based arts liaison consultants will serve as on-the-ground contacts, helping to increase awareness of funding opportunities and ensuring that meaningful support is accessible to a diverse range of artists and arts organizations, particularly in communities that have been historically underserved. By establishing a year-round presence in Alberta, the Canada Council intends to increase its reach and impact, ensuring that more artists and arts organizations can access the support and resources available to them.
