Avenue magazine, known for its award-winning coverage of lifestyle, culture and the arts, is launching a new “Top 20 Under 20,” program in partnership with YMCA Calgary.
Building on the success of their Top 40 Under 40 program, this new program will spotlight young achievers under 20, with the final list set to be published in the March-April 2025 issue.
Partnering with YMCA Calgary, Avenue’s Top 20 Under 20 celebrates young Calgarians who demonstrate leadership, innovation and commitment to their communities in various fields, from business and technology to arts and activism. The magazine is accepting nominations from the community highlighting various achievements, including academic, artistic, athletic, or entrepreneurial pursuits, as well as community involvement and volunteer work. Nominations are open until August 31, 2024.
The winners will be announced in the March-April 2025 issue of Avenue. An event to celebrate the Top 20 under 20 recipients will follow at a YMCA facility in the city.
Avenue’s Top 20 Under 20 will support, celebrate and highlight the achievements of young Calgarians aged 19 and under, and motivate others with inspiring stories about individuals who are making a positive impact in their community..

I don’t think there’s a much better way to ignite conversations that advance the future of Calgary than giving the next generation of innovators and community leaders a platform” said Shelley Arnusch, editor-in-chief of Avenue.
