Internship Program

AMPA’s internship program has gone through a few incarnations since it was originally developed in 2002, but it remains one of the association’s most popular initiatives. The goal of the program is to provide AMPA member magazines the opportunity to hire skilled staff affordably, while providing students and recent graduates hands-on experience in the field at fair rates of pay.

Several former interns have gone on to secure permanent positions in the industry; some now occupy major roles at successful Alberta magazines. Feedback on the program has been enthusiastically positive, and it’s clear that the program provides an essential link between book learning and magazine making.
