In the four years since PJ McGrath was diagnosed with metastatic throat cancer two things had happened: a) the federal government had legalized medically and b) McGrath had declined physically to the point where he wanted to end his life. He was at peace with his decision, but reactions were mixed among his friends, family and caregivers. Writer Christina Frangou and photographer Leah Hennel chronicled the last day of an ordinary man for Swerve.
