What is “natural”? With 80 percent of us now living in the cities and suburban centres, is it defined differently than it was when 80 percent lived in rural areas? Can we even still find “nature”? Reconnecting with nature can take more effort than years ago, but is still very worth it. The benefits—using all five of our senses, recalling ancestral skills of wayfinding and interacting with non-human species—are abundant (even hospital patients with as little as a view of nature benefit from improved health). So, what is “natural”? Let’s get out there and find out.
